As characterized by the teachers, administrators, and staff that she mentors, Jane has boundless enthusiasm when implementing learning sessions. Her depth of knowledge and versatility provides learning to occur and offers a variety of laughs! This depth and expertise has been gleaned over 18 years teaching in K-16 public education as an elementary classroom teacher, English as a Second Language Teacher, Educational Technology Specialist/Facilitator, and adjunct faculty for Washington State University. During this time, she has facilitated for the Gates Foundation Teacher Leadership Project, Microsoft Teaching and Learning Project, Microsoft Peer Coaching, the Microsoft Innovative Educator program, and most recently as a Windows in the Classroom advisor.

As the recent recipient of the 2012 Northwest Council for Computer Education Outstanding Technology Leader of the Year, Jane demonstrates a talent for collaborating with educators and district leaders around the country and the Northwest Region.

She has served on the Washington State Educational Technology Assessment Development committee for the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction and has worked strategically with administrators on Standards-Based Grading and Reporting, Peer Coaching, Curriculum Development and aligning their Technology School Improvement Plans to include strategic goals that connect to their overall School Improvement Plans.

When not working directly with groups of teachers and administrators, she can be found presenting at conferences specifically for teachers, administrators, and/or library teachers. Jane is even known to add Skype events with authors, experts, and professionals to her professional learning sessions. When not advocating for 21st learning environments for students and learning along with her teachers and administrators, Jane enjoys wading the rivers as she refines her fly fishing skills. She can even be seen lounging in the woods in her reclining camping chair with her e-reader.
