Professional Learning Specialist
Sheri Styczen has worked as a dedicated teacher and trainer for more than a decade. After earning a B.A. in Education from Purdue University and an M.A.Ed in Language, Literacy, and Specialized Instruction from DePaul University, she taught kindergarten, third and fourth grades for 11 years.
In 2006, while still teaching, she decided to help teachers integrate technology into their classrooms by becoming an independent certified training consultant for Promethean, Inc. and All Covered, a division of Konica Minolta. This position allowed her to travel throughout the U.S. providing ample opportunity to see how schools are infusing technology nationwide. She rerouted her career to raise her young twins and also focus on working with Promethean, Inc as an independent consultant. With the new
Common Core Standards and 21st Century Learning Standards in place, she believes it is necessary for technology to enhance curriculum, not to drive curriculum.
In 2012, Sheri formed SLS Training Solutions, Inc., which is an independent consultancy specializing in implementing educational technology in the classroom, Microsoft 8.1 training and Promethean Training.
In 2014, Sheri began consulting for NCCE (Northwest Council for Computer Education). She has obtained certification as a Microsoft Innovative Educator, is a certified Microsoft Teacher Academy trainer, and is a certified MIC (Microsoft in the Classroom) trainer. Assisting with organization and curriculum development for NCCE has been a responsibility of Sheri this past year.
