Jenna is passionate about delivering relevant 21st century technology-focused curriculum and feels it is crucial for student success. She believes technology allows students to express their creativity, while providing the necessary technical and critical thinking skills that will not only prepare them for the future, but foster a sense of school belonging that has been proven to be a key element of educational attainment.
Utilizing various Microsoft tools, especially OneNote Class Notebook, in a 1:1 and BYOD environment, allows the ability to teach purposeful content by adapting curriculum to include the community and the world around us. With technology, education would be personalized, learner-driven, and hands-on. Student motivation and engagement would increase. Students would be better prepared for the world of tomorrow. A world where most jobs have yet to be created. A world where technology is deeply embedded. A world where time is a variable and learning is constant. Achieving these goals will transform the learning happening in today's classrooms by bringing the true meaning of teaching – discovery and exploration – back to education. With this opportunity, the possibilities are endless.
Jenna holds a B.S. in Elementary Education and will begin working on her Master's Degree this fall. She has come to the realization in her teaching profession that technology touches almost every part of students' lives and feels that integrating technology into the classroom is a priority in order to make learning relevant for students in today’s digital age.
