Professional Learning Specialist
Michael Higley has worked in the field of education since 2001. Recently he accepted a position with Manatee School for the Arts in Bradenton, FL as the Director of Assessment and Data for Manatee School for the Arts. Most recently he worked as an instructional technology coach providing professional development opportunities and aiding educators in the development and implementation of rigorous and relevant technology experiences.
Additionally, he has served as a middle school assistant principal, teaching 6-8 grade computer technology, sixth grade Social Studies, as well as teaching 7/8 Reading and Language Arts. Michael enjoys working closely with administration, teachers, and students as they learn to blend the best of face-to-face instruction with technology integration. Michael received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, specializing in middle school education, from Austin Peay State University and a Masters Degree also from Austin Peay State University in School Leadership and Administration. He is currently working on his doctorate in e-Learning with Northcentral University with an anticipated graduation date of 2016. His plans are to continue coaching and supporting educational institutions as they move towards a more blended approach to teaching and learning.
