Becky Firth has over 35 years in the education field, including 25 years as a classroom teacher. After receiving her Master in Education degree, with a specialty in Educational Technology, she became one of the first district-wide technology integration specialists in her area. She left the classroom in 2000 and spent the next five years as the director of the Washington State Teacher Leadership Project, a $45 million dollar initiative funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Becky continued to direct the program on a national level from 2005-2008 through a Microsoft Partners in Learning grant.

After retiring as the Educational Technology Director at Northwest ESD 189, a regional service agency in Washington state, Becky now works for NCCE as a Program Director. She has worked as a consultant with the Library of Congress for the past three years helping to develop teacher resources and materials.  Becky leads the Teaching with Primary Sources (TPS) program at NCCE, a free professional development opportunity for K-12 pre-service and in-service teachers, funded through a grant from the Library of Congress.
