Jean is currently the NCCE Conference Program Director and, as such, is responsible for the program for NCCE’s annual Ed-Tech conference. Jean spent thirteen years as the Director of Technology in the Coeur d’Alene School District in beautiful northern Idaho. Her primary responsibilities included technology planning, budgeting, curriculum integration, staff development and overseeing technical support. Jean also holds a Specialist degree in Educational Administration.
Jean considers one of her most important jobs to be an advocate for technology’s role in instruction and work collaboratively with administrators, technology directors, instructional coaches, and classroom teachers. She is an NCCE Professional Learning Specialist and provides workshops to K-12 educators through the Microsoft Innovative Educator program allowing her to share educational technology resources with fellow educators, continue to grow professionally, acquire new technical literacy, and collaborate with other educators to discuss best practices.
Jean’s background includes experience as an elementary teacher where she was one of the first educators in her district to embrace technology and train and provide technology focused professional development for colleagues. After completing her Masters in Educational Technology, she served as a technology coordinator for a K-12 district in Iowa for eight years as well as serving on the ITEC (Iowa Technology Education Connection) board for six years.
