NCCE Staff
Jean Bengfort
Conference Program Director
I began my career as an elementary teacher and was one of the first educators in my district to embrace technology and train colleagues. That experience is where I developed my passion for technology in instruction. After completing my Masters in Educational Technology, I served as a technology coordinator for a K-12 district in Iowa for eight years as well as serving on the ITEC (Iowa Technology Education Connection) board for six years.
I then spent thirteen years as the Director of Technology in the Coeur d’Alene School District in beautiful northern Idaho. Some of my primary responsibilities included planning, budgeting, curriculum integration, staff development and overseeing technical support. I also became involved with NCCE (Northwest Council for Computer Education) where I assisted with conference planning and served six years as K-12 district representative on the NCCE board.
I have always considered one of my most important jobs to be an advocate for technology’s role in instruction and work collaboratively with instructional coaches, tech leaders and classroom teachers, so a natural transition for me when I retired was to continue to be involved with NCCE. As the NCCE Conference Program Director, I lead the planning for NCCE’s annual conference.
