Professional Learning Specialist
Amy Armstrong, M.A.Ed.
I have been in education for 20 years in the Boise area, 7 of those years were in the high school ELA classroom and the rest have been as a teacher librarian at a middle school in the West Ada School District. Being a teacher librarian is my dream job. I love talking to students about books and I love helping find success with reading.
As a teacher librarian, I am able to work with students on skills like how to evaluate a website, using databases, and learning about digital literacy and citizenship. I work with teachers on incorporating books and new ideas into their lessons about novels and independent reading.
I received my Bachelors in English Teaching and my Masters in Educational Technology from Boise State University. I have worked hard to be able to lead my staff through professional development and as a building leader. I have served on several district committees that give me a view of the bigger picture of education and learning.
