Khristy Franklin, Ed.D.
Dr. Khristy A. Franklin is an educator at heart. She enjoys being a lifelong learner. Her educational career started way before she became licensed as a teacher. Honestly, it started as a young learner who always enjoyed helping others. Dr. Franklin believes that learning is the right of every individual. Technology is a powerful resource that can benefit the total learner in school, career, and beyond.
Dr. Franklin is currently the Coordinator of Professional Development in the Noxubee County School District. She taught Business Fundamentals and Management, a two-year business course for 10th and 11th-grade students at the Noxubee County Career and Technical Center in Macon, Mississippi, for over 15 years.
In the landscape of COVID-19, she ushered her school district into the untrodden territories of the virtual classroom. With days of preparation and ongoing training, Dr. Franklin offered PD sessions for all stakeholders in her district to meet the pressing needs during those unprecedented times.
She has been nominated Teacher of the Year several times as a classroom teacher. She was recently nominated as the Administrator of the Year in her new role as the Coordinator of Professional Development.
Dr. Franklin holds a BS in Technology Teacher Education, a Master’s Degree in Technology, an Educational Specialist Degree from the Mississippi State University, and Educational Doctoral Degree in Higher Education from Concordia University-Portland.
