Eric Verno
“What we learn with pleasure, we will never forget.” These words by Alfred Mercier helped to mold Eric Verno during his undergraduate years, and continue to drive him for over 2 decades in the classroom. He is a lifelong learner in the school and on the field as a football coach in rural and city school districts in Pennsylvania. He believes that developing strong relationships are a pinnacle of success. Whether in his Math or Science classroom or in a PD session, active engagement through highly energetic instruction are what separate Eric from the rest.
Eric found the love of educational technology and strives to infuse it into his classroom on a daily basis. He has most recently focused on creating Inquiry Based Science classrooms utilizing STEM standards and the engineering design process in his district. Hearing students comment on how much fun they had in class, while knowing they were working hard on a rigorous activity is very rewarding.
Currently working as a 6th grade math & science teacher in Dallastown, PA. A school district that services 6,500 students. He is currently in a one to one Chromebook program, utilizing google and Microsoft products.
Eric is a MIE Master Trainer, MIE Expert, Surface Classroom Expert. He is a Certified Microsoft Educator and has earned MOS Expert certifications. He is also a Google Level 1 Certified Educator. Eric works with 700 teachers across Pennsylvania and around 150 in South Central PA as a regional director for PAECT.
When not advancing the Education Technology hill, Eric enjoys spending time with his wife, three daughters and his daughters service dog.
