Professional Learning Specialist
Janice spent 14 years in the classroom as an English/Language Arts teacher. She has taught 6-12 ELA, including special education, gifted, and many elective writing classes such as journalism, creative writing, and poetry. She then spent 3.5 years as an Instructional Coach for Technology where she was able to coach teachers and share her passion for meaningfully technology integration in the classroom. During her time as an instructional coach, she was awarded the Educator of the Year award for 2021 for her support and dedication to the staff and students of her district.
She has facilitated professional development for almost 10 years as a technology integration leader and trainer while still teaching in the classroom, and them most recently as an instructional coach. She is comfortable with many education technology platforms including Microsoft, Google, EdPuzzle, Nearpod, SeeSaw, LMS platforms, AR/VR (CoSpaces and Merge), Soundtrap, Discovery Education, Canva for Education, and more. She also has experience both in the education realm and the public company sector in video creation and video editing.
Her educational passion is turning students from consumers of technology to creators as well as supporting and coaching teachers to help them realize how easy it can be to integrate a tool that enhances and supports their current curriculum, practices, and protocols and in turn allows students to become creators.
