Jason Mocherman
Jason grew up and lives in Sarasota Florida. He has been teaching at Riverview High School since 2000 and has a Masters in Educational Leadership. During his years at RHS, Jason has taught over 9 science curricula and currently runs a state-of-the-art digital planetarium that he helped raise over ½ a million dollars to build. This facility sees over ten thousand visitors a year through both school fieldtrips and evening events.Â
Jason also runs a sleep-away summer camp during the summers. He and his family move to Lake Wales, Florida and oversee the summer programs of Lake Aurora Christian Camp. He manages a staff of over 30 high school and college students and over 25 programs with an enrollment of over 1,500 campers per summer.Â
For the past 3 years Jason has been the technology pilot for secondary schools in Sarasota County. He has helped make decisions on what technology should be purchased and how that technology should be implemented in the classrooms of Sarasota. As part of his technology role, Jason runs many trainings and participates in focus groups to help guide future technology decisions.Â
Jason and his wife Jennifer have three children; Madison, Clay and Isabelle. They enjoy the Florida weather and activities such as going to the beach, fishing, biking, hiking and anything else outside.Â
