NCCE was thrilled to participate in the WERA (Washington Educational Research Association) conference at the Tacoma Downtown Marriott this past week. This year’s theme, “Adapting to the Future: Navigating Change and Embracing Innovation in Education,” aligns perfectly with NCCE’s mission to support educators in integrating technology effectively into the classroom. The WERA conference provides a platform for educators and researchers to share insights and strategies for navigating the ever-evolving educational landscape, focusing this year on harnessing the power of AI.

NCCE board member Rena Clark, an Instructional Technology Facilitator for Auburn School District, attended and supported the NCCE booth. She expressed her eagerness to explore how AI can revolutionize data analysis in education, stating, “I am excited to learn more about how AI can help us reimagine educational data, making it easier to identify trends and needs that drive meaningful shifts in teaching.”

Similarly, NCCE Ambassador Dr. Karen Hickenbottom, Director of Learning Management Services for Everett School District, attended as well. She shared her anticipation for engaging in conversations about AI’s influence on research, stating, “I’m excited to be at WERA this year because I’m curious to have some conversations with people about how AI is impacting research. There are so many possibilities!” These sentiments reflect the broader excitement within the educational community for leveraging AI to transform teaching, learning, and research practices. Notably, several sessions specifically addressed the use of AI in interpreting data, supporting multilingual learners, and transforming teaching practices.

NCCE is excited to engage in these critical conversations and contribute to shaping a future where technology empowers educators and enhances the learning experience for all students.
