Ed Woods, Director of the Mid-Willamette Education Consortium, was honored as the NCCE 2025 Outstanding Technology Leader of the Year, sponsored by Vrew,  at the 54th NCCE 25 largest ed-tech event in Seattle, WA during the opening keynote ceremony. The award celebrates his transformative leadership and commitment to empowering Oregon’s students and educators with innovative technology. 

NCCE CEO Shannon Davenport, shared that Woods has been selected for this prestigious award after a thorough evaluation of an impressive pool of nominees. This honor is awarded to Pacific Northwest leaders who: 

  • Serve as influential figures in educational technology, making significant, long-term contributions beyond their job descriptions. 
  • Collaborate beyond their institution, district, or region, fostering innovation and progress in education. 
  • Actively participate in and contribute to NCCE as a leader, presenter, or volunteer. 

A Visionary in Educational Technology 

Woods has exemplified these qualities through his visionary leadership in integrating cutting-edge tools like artificial intelligence (AI) into Oregon’s classrooms. His unwavering commitment to ensuring students have access to industry-leading tools has made a significant impact on both educators and learners alike. By securing grant funding, he has provided schools with access to industry-standard technologies, ensuring that both students and educators are equipped to succeed in the digital age. 

Beyond his technical expertise, Woods is known for his generosity and willingness to support fellow educators. His participation at NCCE events as a speaker and collaborator further highlights his dedication to educational advancement.
