Two prominent Idaho-based organizations, IASA, Idaho Association of School Administrators, and NCCE, Northwest Council for Computer Education, have joined forces to enhance professional learning opportunities for school administrators at the 2024 IASA Summer Leadership Conference in Boise, Idaho, on July 31.

Join Kelly Williams, NCCE Professional Learning Specialist, and Shannon Davenport, NCCE CEO, as they present:
Cybersecurity Basics for Educators: A Day in the Life of a Hacker
Do things like data protection, privacy, and security leave you wondering why they are all important to you as an educator? If so, join us for a session to help you work safely with digital tools protecting you, your school, and your students. You will get to “see” the actions that make us vulnerable to hackers and how to move beyond typical reactive responses to implement proactive strategies.
Participants will leave the session not only being able to spot actions that make each of us vulnerable to hackers but also with practical, proactive strategies that can be infused into microlearning opportunities for staff and students.
Also, check out Jennifer Brown, Prodigy Learning, to see how over 45 Idaho school districts use Coding in Minecraft and how you can.
Transforming Computer Science Education in Idaho with Coding in Minecraft

In this session, you will learn how teachers in Idaho have already begun using ‘Coding in Minecraft’ to create a student-led, highly engaging learning experience where the educator becomes the facilitator, and the students lead their learning to learn how to code in Blocks, JavaScript or Python. In addition, they can earn a credential through our Capstone Credential Exam. See how the immersive curriculum and credential pathway have all the resources educators need to teach students how to code without being a coding expert.
Empowering Idaho
The collaboration between IASA and NCCE represents a significant milestone for Idaho’s educational landscape. Based in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, NCCE is a not-for-profit organization with over 4000+ members. Together, they empower educators, enhance student outcomes, and foster a tech-savvy learning environment.
