Every year, the Northwest Council for Computer Education (NCCE) celebrates educators who exemplify innovation, leadership, and a deep commitment to empowering students through technology. At NCCE 26, taking place February 25–27, 2026, at the Seattle Convention Center, we’re proud to continue this tradition of honoring excellence in education.

The NCCE Awards Program recognizes individuals and teams who are transforming learning through technology integration, creative teaching, and visionary leadership. These awards shine a light on the outstanding work happening every day in schools and districts across the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

Why Recognition Matters

Nearly everyone can recall one or two outstanding teachers who inspired and influenced them to pursue their dreams. While most teachers carry the gratitude of these students in their hearts, NCCE believes they should also receive some public acknowledgement.

In education, where the rewards are often intangible, taking time to celebrate excellence is essential. We know that recognition can reinforce a culture of innovation and encourage others to take creative risks in their classrooms. When educators are recognized for their achievements, it not only validates their hard work but also inspires others to explore new strategies and technologies. It reminds us that progress happens one classroom, one project, and one idea at a time.

In today’s challenging educational environment, teachers, coaches, and leaders are finding new ways to inspire curiosity, collaboration, and creativity in their students. At our annual conference, NCCE takes the opportunity to highlight those educators who make a lasting impact on students, colleagues, and their communities. The NCCE Innovative Educator Awards celebrate those who go above and beyond to inspire excellence in their schools, districts, and communities through the use of technology in the classroom.

Celebrating Innovation and Dedication

The deadline for nominations is Friday, January 23, 2026, and all NCCE members are encouraged to nominate peers whose work exemplifies innovation, equity, and student-centered learning. Three prestigious awards will be presented at NCCE 26:

  • Innovative Educator of the Year: Honoring K–12 educators who transform teaching and learning through forward-thinking instructional strategies and meaningful technology integration. These educators make a measurable impact on students and colleagues alike, modeling lifelong learning and professional growth.

  • Innovative Leader of the Year: Recognizing coordinators, administrators, or supervisors who demonstrate exceptional leadership in advancing technology-rich educational practices. These leaders support the growth of others, collaborate beyond their own institutions, and champion innovation.

  • Innovative Teacher Librarian of the Year: Celebrating library professionals who reimagine learning spaces through technology, creating inclusive and engaging environments that connect students with information, creativity, and digital literacy.

The objectives of the NCCE awards program are to recognize excellence, elevate public awareness of innovative education, and model effective technology integration that empowers educators and their students.

By honoring those who lead with innovation and heart, NCCE continues its mission to support educators who are making a profound difference—ensuring every student has the opportunity to thrive in a digital world.
