Victoria Thompson, our next guest on Live from NCCE, is an Education Strategist at CDW, an instructional designer for EduSpark, and an ISTE Community Leader. Her career started in classroom teaching, where she taught fifth and sixth grade math and science in Summerville, SC. After completing her master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, she moved to the Seattle, WA area in 2018, where her career pivoted to focusing on STEM integration in schools, K-12 mathematics instruction with research on mathematics curriculum for teachers and learners, creating inclusive math environments, and using technology to bridge equity gaps in education. She is very passionate about STEM education and educational technology.
At CDW, she serves as a consultative strategist to the Superintendents, CIO, CTO, CAO, CFO, Directors, and other key leadership within the seven states of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee, expanding thought-leadership through keynote presentations, featured speaker opportunities, and CDW sponsored opportunities at strategic events within the territory. In her prior roles at Microsoft as an Education Industry Executive and customer success account manager, she helped support account teams in digital transformation initiatives in 23 states and led the Microsoft Innovative Education Expert (MIEExpert) and Showcase School programs where she supported 830 educators, 42 Showcase Schools, and 30 Incubator Schools across the United States. She has presented at ISTE, FETC, TCEA, IDEAcon, ImpactEducation, CUE, and DigCitSummit on topics such as creating inclusive math classrooms, culturally responsive STEM education, equity in educational technology, equity in instructional coaching, teaching students to research in mathematics, and using technology to create equitable STEM classroom environments.
In 2023, she won the title of one of the Top 10 Most Visionary Leaders in Education by CIO Look Magazine. Additionally, she was recently awarded the title of one of the top 30 K-12 IT influencers in 2021 by EdTech Magazine and one of the ISTE Top 20 to Watch in 2023.
