At the Northwest Council for Computer Education (NCCE), we’re proud to work with some of the most inspiring voices in education technology today. Our upcoming annual conference, NCCE 26, which will be held February 25–27, 2026, at the Seattle Convention Center, will continue that tradition by showcasing speakers and presenters who each bring a unique perspective on innovation, leadership, and the future of learning. Here is a short preview of some of the dynamic leaders you can look forward to seeing as an attendee at NCCE 26.

 

Opening Keynote: Bushra Amiwala – Inspiring Gen Z Leadership

 

As the youngest elected official in U.S. history and a Forbes “30 Under 30” honoree, Bushra Amiwala exemplifies courage and civic engagement. We are excited to have her as our opening keynote speaker this year. Ms. Amiwala will explore how educators can empower student voices and leadership in a changing world.

 

Closing Keynote: Dr. Thuan Nguyen – Leading with Purpose and Equity

 

Dr. Thuan Nguyen, President and CEO of AVID Center, leads with a passion for preparing all students for success in college, career, and life. A former refugee from Vietnam, Dr. Nguyen credits public education and dedicated educators with transforming his life, a journey that fuels his mission to empower others. Since joining AVID in 2016, he has helped expand its reach to more than 3,200 schools and 1.5 million students. With over two decades of leadership in education and technology, including as Assistant Superintendent in the Kent School District in Washington, Dr. Nguyen brings a powerful message about access, innovation, and the educators who change lives. Join us as he shares an inspiring vision for equity, opportunity, and the future of learning.

 

Holly Clark – The AI-Infused Classroom

 

Internationally recognized educator and author of The AI Infused Classroom, Holly Clark will offer insights that will help teachers navigate artificial intelligence in education. Her sessions aim to guide educators in blending technology, pedagogy, and creativity to enhance learning.

 

Marlon Styles – Leading with Equity and Vision

 

Named one of District Administration’s Top 100 Education Influencers, Marlon Styles inspires educators to unite around the concept of digital equity. A former superintendent and national advocate, he’ll share strategies that help educators to empower modern and challenged learners through access, outreach, and innovation.

 

Tim Needles – Creativity Meets Technology

 

Artist, educator, and author of STEAM Power: Infusing Art Into Your STEM Curriculum,  Tim Needles brings 25 years of classroom experience integrating art, media, and technology to our stage at NCCE 26. His sessions will encourage educators to infuse creativity and design-thinking across all educational disciplines, transforming the dynamics of the classroom in powerful ways.

 

Mike Agostinelli and Jason Neiffer – The Power of Connection

 

As Montana Digital Academy’s Assistant Director/Curriculum Director and Executive Director, Mike Agostinelli and Jason Neiffer lead by example, helping schools embrace digital learning while keeping educators connected, inspired, and supported. 

 

Mike Agostinell, Ed.S., is an educational leader with over twenty years of experience in K-12 education. He currently serves as the Assistant Director and Curriculum Director at the Montana Digital Academy and NCCE’s Tech-Savvy Teacher-in-Residence. Holding a Master’s in Educational Technology and an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership, he has excelled in various instructional and technology leadership roles, including Instructional Program Director, Technology Director, and district administrator. With a passion for improving student achievement, Agostinelli is recognized as an award-winning presenter at national conferences, focusing on technology integration, online learning, curriculum design, and leadership. He also champions high-quality digital learning opportunities and teacher development.

 

Dr. Jason Neiffer is the Executive Director of Montana Digital Academy and NCCE’s Tech-Savvy Administrator-in-Residence. For over 28 years, Jason has been exploring innovative ways to blend technology and pedagogy to make learning engaging and meaningful for students of all ages. His professional interests include distance learning, media literacy, digital productivity, artificial intelligence, social studies, and humanities education. He is a frequent speaker nationwide, focusing on high-quality digital learning. His first experience with educational technology was in 1984, when he set up all the Apple IIe computers at Roosevelt Elementary School in Great Falls as a spirited 4th grader. He has been chasing the thrill of Lemonade Stand and Oregon Trail ever since!

 

Mike and Jason have worked together since 2008, when they both joined the Montana technology standards revision committee and found a shared passion for great teaching, innovative technology, and next-level geekery. They have jointly presented at conferences, led workshops, participated in professional learning events, and testified before board and hearings a combined 150 times. At NCCE 26, Mike and Jason will share their experiences and insights with educators throughout the Pacific and Inland Northwest, encouraging them to embrace and implement the modern technological tools available that can enhance learning, increase engagement, and keep schools at the leading edge.
