By Leveraging CYBER.ORG’s Train the Trainer Model, NCCE will empower K-12 educators to teach the nation’s students about cybersecurity, improve career access.
Today, NCCE announced a partnership with CYBER.ORG – a workforce development organization funded by Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Cybersecurity Education and Training Assistance Program grant – to train employees to be cybersecurity education providers for the nation’s educators. With over 700,000 open cybersecurity roles nationwide and amidst an uptick in cyberattacks, there is an urgent need to prepare even the youngest students for cybersecurity careers. This is only possible if educators are trained to teach cybersecurity in the classroom.
NCCE joins a cohort of state departments of education and professional development leaders leveraging CYBER.ORG’s proven Train the Trainer Model. CYBER.ORG has trained over 27,000 K-12 teachers nationwide using a K-12 cyber education program with age-appropriate content that aligns with state standards for education in 25 states and counting.
Through CYBER.ORG, NCCE employees will receive free in-person and virtual professional development workshops, courses, and access to Cybersecurity Basics, an introductory K-12 cybersecurity course on security and digital citizenship, in addition to:
- In-person and virtual options for training staff members
- Slides and other pertinent training materials for trained employees to facilitate professional development within the state
- Access and permitted use of CYBER.ORG’s content and curricula through CYBER.ORG’s learning management system
Together, NCCE and CYBER.ORG will work in close collaboration to equip K-12 educators with the tools they need to educate the next generation of students for cybersecurity careers.

CYBER.ORG, formerly the National Integrated Cyber Education Research Center (NICERC), is a cybersecurity workforce development organization that targets K-12 students with cyber career awareness, curricular resources, and teacher professional development.
